Greetings First Church Brooklyn Community,
Session met last night, and we made the heartbreaking but necessary decision to move our upcoming worship to the virtual space beginning with our Christmas Eve celebration this Friday evening at 7:00 pm. This is the right thing to do as the Omicron variant is rapidly spreading in New York City and impacting even those in our faith community.
Our sanctuary will remain closed through at least January 9th. We hope to return to in-person worship for our beloved Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration but are taking this one day at a time.
Whenever we return to in person worship, proof of vaccination will be required. If you are not yet vaccinated, please use this time of pause to protect yourself and others. If you are already vaccinated, get boosted. If you have concerns about Covid-19 or vaccinations, please speak with your primary care provider.
Whether in-person or in the virtual space, God's love still sings this Christmas. It sings in worship, in gatherings with family and friends, and in the love and care we are showing towards every member of the First Church Brooklyn community. We will see you soon and when we do, we will rejoice!
