| Dear First Church Brooklyn community, Greetings from those now on Session. In these summer days, we are blessed by good weather, our beloved community, and the ever present grace of God, even during these times of uncertainty, anxiety, and sadness about the state of national and world affairs. We are reaching out today regarding Pastor Adriene's announcement on July 3 that she is the finalist for a position at another church and will be preaching a candidating sermon there on July 17. If the way be clear, Pastor Adriene will be moving on from First Church Brooklyn by summer's end. This news was unexpected and we have been processing it just as you are. We are grieving the potential loss of our Pastor and friend. But even as we work through our feelings about the transition, we are united in our love for God. And, more than ever, we are united in our efforts to take the needed steps to hold and maintain our church and its vibrant community for years to come. You will hear more from Pastor Adriene and the Session in the near future. For now, we simply wanted to reach out in love to relay our commitment to leading the church through this time of transition as we continue to serve and glorify God and grow into our shared future. We are the big tent, the rainbow, the intentionally diverse place of inclusivity that has grown and flourished through joyous and tough times.
