In October 2023, the Session formed the FPC Strategic Space Planning Committee to address our long-term tenant Saint Ann's School departure. The focus of the committee is to investigate the issues this change presents, including identifying a potential new tenant(s) and addressing capital needs and upgrades.
Since then, the Committee has spent time exploring options for the space that will be vacated by St. Ann's School in 2026. We have spoken to several consultants and brokers about the optimal use of the space and improvements that might be required depending on the tenant.
We are excited to share that we have found a broker that is quite enthusiastic about marketing the space. With Session's approval, the Church has entered an exclusive engagement with the broker to promote our beloved space and assist with all stages of lease negotiations if we identify a tenant.
While we will have the professional assistance of a seasoned broker, we know that this Congregation has a wealth of relationships and contacts that could be tremendously helpful in assisting our broker and opening us up to opportunities in God's path for us.
As you can imagine, schools and childcare related service-provider tenants are ideal given the current configuration of the space. However, we are open to any possibilities that God may move us toward.
We ask that you please contact us if you have relationships or connections with senior leaders at any of the following types of organizations:
- Early childhood programs
- Preschools
- Providers of school adjacent supportive services such as occupational, physical or mental therapy
- Afterschool program providers
- Adult daycare
Given our desirable location, our space might be highly attractive as a satellite location for any of the above.
And of course, consistent with being open to possibilities beyond our imagining, if you have contacts at any well-capitalized organization who could use our space in a manner that is consistent with the mission and values of First Church Brooklyn, please feel free to let us know about that as well.
