| Greetings First Church Brooklyn Family and Friends, I am thinking about resurrection in a Coronavirus world. The landscape has shifted drastically from last year to this with so much dismembered – our work, the fabric of our society and our distance from those we love including one another. Amid broken bodies, broken government and broken promises, there is still a locus of hope and new life in remembering…putting the broken pieces back together. - Elder Richard Greene is leading the process of reopening our church.
- Remembering Philippians 2:4 "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
- Volunteers from our church and St. Ann's School are helping our community and others to secure vaccine appointments under the leadership of Elder Gladys McNish.
- Remembering Romans 12:13: "Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."
- Elder Uda Bradford and our young adults have been working in the garden and this Saturday, a small team will head out with lilies to make visits to some of our senior members.
Remembering Proverbs 11:25 "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." Slowly, lovingly, and gratefully, we are remembering…putting our church community and world back together. There is a lot to do, we each have a part, and we will not be resurrected in three days…but we are on the way. Thank you for being part of what is happening in our small part of God's kingdom. Food Pantry Serving Thursday, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM On Thursday, April 1st, our pantry served 126 clients with the help of 9 volunteers. We will maintain the bins on the church steps to support the food insecure and the homeless population who have benefitted from the offering. If you need food, please help yourself. If you have food to share, thank you for dropping off. Please contact the church office to inquire about volunteering. | Family Retreat - June 19th-20th We had to cancel our retreat last year due to COVID, but found a place this year to have a SAFE and fun family retreat! Join us for a time of playing in the water, boating, exploring the woods, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the outdoors at Camp DeWolfe in Wading River, NY. Families are able to lodge in separate cabin units. Cost is $80/person and includes meals. |

FPC Men's Group enjoying a recent discussion via Zoom First Church's Men's Group meets virtually each Wednesday morning from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM to discuss what they are reading and, if time allows, solve as many of the world's problems as possible. We are currently discussing:
