| Turner Sparks Stand-Up Comedian www.TurnerSparks.com 
Turner Sparks' debut stand-up comedy album "Turner Sparks Live From The Friars Club" (released in 2019 by Larry The Cable Guy's Git R Done Records/ Comedy Dynamics) went to #2 on the iTunes Comedy Top 200 Charts, was a Top 10 Hit in the Billboard Charts and is currently in heavy rotation on SiriusXM's comedy channels. In October of 2018 Sparks was inducted as the newest "Friar" at the legendary Friars Club in New York City, and in September 2020 he was elected to the Friars' Board of Governors. While he currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, award-winning comedian Turner Sparks started his comedy career in 2009 in Suzhou, China by founding Mainland China's first stand-up comedy club, Kung Fu Komedy Club. Previous to that, Sparks had opened China's first foreign owned ice cream truck business when he launched Mister Softee China in 2007. In 2016 Sparks returned to the US and has been rising quickly in the New York City comedy scene ever since. Sparks has become a regular performer at the top comedy clubs in New York City including Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, The Friars Club, The Village Lantern Comedy Club, The Grisly Pear Comedy Club and more. Sparks is also the host of the popular "Lost in America" podcast on iTunes which is a worldwide hit going to #1 in Armenia, Peru, United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Czech Republic, Albania and currently sits at #5 in the U.S Stand-Up Comedy Podcast charts. Sparks has performed in over 15 countries and continues to draw rave reviews with his razor-sharp punch lines, quick wit and global perspective. REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER SHARE IS OPEN NOW It's registration time for the Brooklyn Bridge CSA's 2021Season - this is the wonderful Community Supported Agriculture group, run by volunteers, that distributes food to CSA members at our church during the growing season. BBCSA has become like a partner, as they give back with unexpected monetary donations to our church and offer to screen food justice films in our sanctuary. Also, any leftover fresh farm produce at the end of a distribution day is donated to our food pantry. (BBCSA distribution is on Wednesday evenings, the night before our Food Pantry day.) If you want to learn more about Sang Lee Farms on Long Island, they are holding a virtual Meet the Farmer event on Tues 4/13 at 7:30pm. Family Retreat - June 19th-20th We had to cancel our retreat last year due to COVID, but found a place this year to have a SAFE and fun family retreat! Join us for a time of playing in the water, boating, exploring the woods, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the outdoors at Camp DeWolfe in Wading River, NY. Families are able to lodge in separate cabin units. Cost is $80/person and includes meals. |

Food Pantry Serving Thursday, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM On Thursday, April 8th, our pantry served 130 clients with the help of 11 volunteers. We will maintain the bins on the church steps to support the food insecure and the homeless population who have benefitted from the offering. If you need food, please help yourself. If you have food to share, thank you for dropping off. Please contact the church office to inquire about volunteering. FPC Men's Group enjoying a recent discussion via Zoom First Church's Men's Group meets virtually each Wednesday morning from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM to discuss what they are reading and, if time allows, solve as many of the world's problems as possible. We are currently discussing:
